Mr. Usman is also active in the political arena. He the past president of Markham Provincial Liberal Association;

Mr. Usman was an elected Municipal Councillor in the Town of Markham for consecutive 3 terms. (9 years);

Unsuccessfully ran as a Liberal candidate from the riding of Markham in the Provincial elections of 1995;

Mr. Usman was the president of Federal riding of Markham Stouffville for the tears 1988 to 1990 and

Has been an active member of the riding Associations of both Federal and Provincial since 1988.
